How chiropractic care can help infants...

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

Chiropractic care for children is a safe, effective and natural treatment for many common ailments seen in infants and children.

Modern medicine is an amazing thing, but sometimes there is something manifesting within the musculoskeletal system that is affecting their well being, and that’s where a pediatric chiropractic can help! Chiropractic is an amazing alternative (or addition) to relying on over the counter medicines and nights/days of frustration put on the parents. Your job is hard enough, let’s see if we can help naturally, without any adverse effects.

It is important to understand that the Doctor of Chiropractic does not treat conditions or diseases. The expertise of the chiropractor is in checking the child’s spine for mis-alignments that impair nervous system function therefore affecting overall body function. The nervous system controls and coordinates the function of all the systems in the body: circulatory, respiratory, digestive, hormonal, and immune system. Any aspect of health may be impaired by nerve interference. The chiropractic adjustment restores nervous system function allowing the body the ability to express a greater state of health and well-being. When this happens we see tremendous results in the following...

-Ear Infections -Anxiety

-Allergies -Bed Wetting

-Autism -ADHD/ADD -Discomfort laying on their back -Discomfort in car seats

-Developmental Delay -Torticolis

-Diarrhea -Colic

-Constipation -Latch Issues

-Asthma -Growing Pains

-Headaches ...and so much more….

My son was very gently adjusted hours after he was born. He had quite the time being born and we ended up having cesarean delivery (more on that with birth trauma post). With the lifting of the head and all the craziness of the medicated, surgical birth, I wanted to get him into his nervous system back into “chill zone”. Because nothing should interfere with a babies #1 priority = grow.

The amount of pressure I apply is the same amount you would if you were to test the ripeness of a an avocado (in Cali - we have all done that once or twice 😉). A very, very light amount of pressure is applied to the muscles and along the vertebrae for correction. There is no twisting, popping or big movements - it’s about relaxing the child’s nervous system and it’s often not a surprise when the infant falls asleep during or right after their adjustment. I take great honor in the privilege of treating your babe - I will care for your child, just as I would my own! It brings me so much joy to help you give your child the best opportunity to flourish physically and ENJOY the process of growing.

Cheers to your health! -Dr. Liz
